Tasks

  • You will establish an action plan with a clear target for you and the sales team for upcoming years with a
    financial rationale.
  • You actively approach customers where, after identifying needs and requirements, you prepare quotes and budgets
    for the events
  • From your network, you establish contacts with potential bookers.
  • You know all the “event spaces” at our special location of Rolduc Abbey like the back of your hand and work an appropriate
    customized proposal.
  • You will think along in the further development of our meeting packages, exclusive events, customization of
    weddings and can think along in developing “out of the box” concepts to product launches.
  • You will be responsible for liaising with our guests and/or event bookers. You are
    responsible from initial sales contact through the after sales process.
  • You coordinate all arrangements with colleagues, collaborating parties and suppliers.
  • You will take care of the evaluation as “after sales” of all events and ensure the preparation of correct
    invoices and post-calculation.
  • You have regular meetings with your immediate supervisor the General Manager and department heads such as
    F&B Manager, Banqueting Manager and our Chef.
  • You will lead the team during preparation and host and
    point of contact for your relationship.
  • Your job is to ensure that the event we organize is “Different” and from your
    hospitable role you will ensure that our guests lack nothing.
  • Collaborate with our other locations within Different Hotels and Van Melick Catering.

Requirements

  • You have a minimum of an HBO working and thinking level.
  • You have completed your education with expertise in hotel management, facility management or commercial economics.
  • You have at least 5 years’ experience in a similar position.
  • You are fluent in Dutch, English and German. An additional language such as French is a plus.
  • You are handy with hotel software and learn quickly.
  • You like to work in a structured manner and work in great detail.
  • You love preparing KPI reports and sales reports.
  • You are business minded, presentable and possess strong communication skills.
  • You have proven experience in the event industry and a corresponding network.
  • You have a broad development and affinity for gastronomy & the hotel industry in an international setting.

Job Description

As Restaurant Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the restaurant. You will play a critical role in maintaining our high standards of service, managing staff and ensuring overall guest satisfaction. You are a dynamic leader capable of motivating, coaching and inspiring the team to achieve the best possible results.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the restaurant team and ensure efficient staff planning and management.
  • Establish and maintain operational procedures and protocols to ensure smooth operation of the restaurant.
  • Oversee the quality of food preparation, presentation and service to meet guest expectations.

We are looking for an on-call General Service Officer (AD) to help make sure our hotel looks tiptop. As an employee AD, you will be included within our close-knit team of colleagues and also part of Different Hotels and the Van Melick Catering Group.

Tasks:

As an AD employee, you will be responsible for cleaning our common areas such as the breakfast room or brasserie. You also control periodic cleaning tasks such as care of the cloisters with a scrubber. You also clean and care for the meeting rooms when necessary and also make sure everything is tidy in between.

Your working hours will basically be in the morning, but you may also be deployed more flexibly on busy days.

The number of hours per week is approximately 12-16 hours spread over 5 days, but more hours are certainly possible and even desirable during busy periods.

As event manager, you will be co-responsible for the entire F&B team. You will collectively ensure that all guest needs are met. You are co-responsible for our own bar ‘the Lost Son’, our beautiful terrace, brasserie ‘the Kannunik’ and banqueting rooms together with your supervisors. You will ensure positive relationships in the team and support the team to achieve all F&B goals.

As a Duty Management intern, you will assist the General Manager in managing the entire hotel operation. To maximize and exceed guest satisfaction, as a management intern you will work with the operations team to provide the best possible service. You live, communicate and monitor the corporate values at all times. You will help lead our employees to their performance, profitability and continuous development of customer service and quality standards.

Biggest challenge and WHY do we need you? As a Duty Management intern, you will work closely with team members from all operational departments, and assist our General Manager. You will support these departments as and when needed. Your job is to ensure that all operational processes within the hotel run as smoothly as possible to ensure a perfect stay for all our guests. You will be our jack-of-all-trades in handling guest complaints, checking rooms, basic maintenance tasks, security checks and directing departments in the absence of a manager or supervisor. In short: a challenging position for an ambitious student!

  • Be available to all departments during shifts for support and questions;
  • Support the Front Office Team as needed and substitute for management during absences;
