historic tour
For 1.5 hours, let our guide take you into the imposing past of the largest monumental monastery complex in the Benelux countries and visit places that are normally off limits. Among other things, you will learn more about:
- the founder of Rolduc Abdij and the Augustinian Choristers
- the relationship with the Dukes of Limburg
- The origins of coal mining in Limburg.

Tasting of abdij beers in the brewhouse. – max 35 people
You can taste our abdij beers and get a tour of the brewing and tasting room by one of our brewers. Of course, a tour is always accompanied by tasting our delicious beers!
Included in beer tasting:

Studio and gallery under one roof
Located within the gates of Abdij Rolduc complex in Kerkrade, Galerie Kunstlokaal is quirky, distinctive, innovative and connecting. This is what you can expect from the gallery:
- three-dimensional work in various disciplines and price categories
- The atmosphere is convivial, serene and tasteful, with cold materials deliberately interspersed with soft and cuddly art forms.

Photography workshops and photo walks
Photography workshops for beginners and advanced students, both individual and group. A camera that lets you control the exposure settings is recommended. This is because these workshops have a 100% practical approach and focus entirely on the participant(s). After all, this is how you learn fastest and best. And that too in beautiful South Limburg!
For those who prefer to enjoy nature and the landscape, it is also possible to join a photo walk. This can be done with any type of camera, including your smartphone! Here, we pick the day and see for ourselves what we come across. With a few tips & tricks, you are guaranteed to come back with great photos!
